Reducing Risk for Girls in the Juvenile Justice System

Youth Legal System

Project Period: 2022–Jan 19, 2025

The National Florence Crittenton Mission dba Justice + Joy National Collaborative (prime), the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (subrecipient), and the core consultants of girls experts will provide training and technical assistance to grantees to strengthen the programs and support available to girls and their families in communities that have been historically underserved to all the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) project sites from 2020 to 2024. The training and technical assistance team will also integrate, support, and sustain meaningful youth and family partnerships by adding youth and families to the core experts team. Justice + Joy and the OJJDP Girls training and technical assistance team work together to develop customized training and technical assistance plans for project sites for the provision of training and technical assistance, develop and host an annual meeting for all grantees, disseminate resources on girls, and provide other forms of training and technical assistance, including peer-to-peer learning opportunities and webinars. Additionally, due to the complexity of drivers of girls into the juvenile justice system, Justice + Joy will engage a broad array of stakeholders in its effort to create and sustain system and programmatic change and provide training and Technical assistance to the public through OJJDP’s TTA360 portal.
