Our Work
Shaping all of Justice +Joy’s work is a deep collective understanding that we do not live single-identity or single-issue lives.
Our Approach
We take a root-cause intergenerational approach, rejecting silos, division, and fear of change. All of our work is grounded in the wisdom of those with lived expertise as leaders and partners. Change—whether through adaptation, abolition, or radical reimagining—is essential to justice.
Justice + Joy recognizes the persistent invisibility of girls, young women, and gender-expansive youth of color in national conversations on racial, ethnic, and gender justice. Rooted in what Dr. Gail Christopher calls the “hierarchy of human value,” they are too often pushed to the margins.
Our Focus
Through interconnected work in advocacy, organizing, and research we aim to dismantle all forms of marginalization—individual, social, and systemic. In its place, we seek a society rooted in compassion, healing, opportunity, and justice. This work is personal, political, and complex—and it is our purpose.
