Jessie Domingo Salu brings to Justice + Joy more than two decades of experience in program leadership and development, communications, and direct service. What drives her in this work is addressing systemic barriers that often prevent girls, young women, and gender-expansive young people from seeing and understanding their strength, power, and ability to rule the world. She is humbled to be part of an organization that advocates for and works alongside girls, young women, and gender-expansive young people of color to address the issues that prevent them from living healthy, free, and unapologetic lives. At Justice + Joy, Jessie strategically engages in developing individual, organizational, and philanthropic relationships to support Justice + Joy’s impact, visibility, and financial resources.
Jessie is a first-generation Filipina, born and raised in Hawaii. What occupies Jessie’s time is balancing life—family, work, community, and health. The one thing she and her husband work toward is upholding their cultural heritage by staying connected to their communities so their children are able to preserve their culture and learn the stories of their ancestors. For fun, she enjoys potlucks and karaoke with family and friends. Jessie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, with an emphasis in Social Work, from Washington State University.
