Carrie’s role as Senior Director of Strategic Communication & Sustainability allows her to combine her passion for national events, policy, and education to elevate awareness of issues affecting girls, young women, and gender-expansive young people, while also sharing information to advance social justice. As a proud member of the Diné (Navajo) Nation, she was raised to understand the importance of fostering a strong, informed voice to advocate for equality. She draws on ancestral knowledge as part of her framework to dismantle and decolonize damaging systems of power, which informs her work at Justice + Joy.
She graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology, gaining insight into past and present power structures and cultural significance. With a background in marketing, public speaking, and political advocacy, she uses her lived experiences to educate and advocate for change. Living on the homeland of the Timpanogos Tribe in Utah, she frequently volunteers locally to support community members experiencing homelessness. She is always looking for the next good book or podcast to enjoy—whether at a new coffee shop or curled up with her cat, Franklin.
